When inshore fishing you will target for roosterfish and when good water conditions caught are abundant. You also can expect catch small dorado, jack jurel, tunas and cuberas. There are good roosterfishing spots near the Bat islands, 70 minutes boat running from Playa del Coco; however, these places are reached only in rainy season or between May until early December. In other hand, we have also good fishing spots 20-25 boats running from hotels like the Riu Guanacaste, and those spots are reached in a half day charter. When Fishing offshore, out of Bait islands or South, in front of Tamarindo you will target for sails, big dorado, yellowfin and marlin. Papagayo fishing grounds have such fertile waters that anglers come from locations worldwide to experience the charter fishing in these water.
